Gosh, some depressingly sad-sack posts here on a bleak Melbourne afternoon.
I agree the with AML trials having proven to be a fluffer, and the DCB strategy being rejected by major shareholders & the market, has not been good for the SP. As well the market generally, especially for biotechs has been in the toilet for 2 years + now.
Nonetheless, I think there is reason for cautious optimism, some counterpoints to the pessimism , (not necessarily in order)
- Triangle report analysising potential market for Bisantrene cardio protection, massive !
- Danny Sharp & Cullity have gone from the board. I presume that it was with one or both of them that DrT had 'serious differences with'
- Pete Smith joins the board, and later as fill-in CEO. Seeing him speak on the Pro-active video about the RC220 update showed he is on the ball.
- Michelle Rashford joins as CMO - seeing her speak also instils confidence
- Sophia Moscovis joins as Program Management, Risk & Strategy Director- looks a great hire
- Marinella Messina (Clincal Program Director) - exercises 1.8M options & holds. She is an insider.
- Dr T buys a bucket load more shares on market, bringing his holding to around 10%. There's no-one who understands the potential of bisantrene better.
- Mary did move quickly to remove DCB & get back Dr T to help with reworking the strategy once it was realised the strategy was DOA, esp as unfunded. I shudder to think where the SP would be now otherwise.
- Dr. T rejoins RAC as a consultant, working on the revised strategy. Also re-engages with shareholders to improve communications & info.
- RC220 formulation is pretty much on track, and no problems so far. Great IP. Going to be used in BC trials next year.
- Revised strategy being developed. We'd all like to see it sooner, but after the last attempt, best to get it right, even if it takes a bit longer
- Oncolines study showing broad anti-cancer activity113 of 143tumour cell lines
-T20 remaining largely unchanged, and many adding to holdings. Increased concentration of ownership in those holding more than 100,000 shares.
- Sheda 2.0 results incoming. Described by DCB as 'compelling'
- other iceberg things that we haven't been informed of, supposedly for IP reasons, etc, eg Dominissini FTO data, Breast Cancer MOA, companion test, etc, etc
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we're out of the woods, far from it. Just trying to give some balance to some of the negativity around the forum atm.
I think most of us would agree, from here it's now about getting the strategy right to deliver an 'outsized commercial return' via a transaction, and not stuffing it up !
