There are many.
1. The Phase 1 response rate was 50%. Of course this was from 6 patients so this could just be chance, both high or low.
2. The combination of bis/clo/flu showed strong combinational efficacy in cell culture studies. The hope is this will hold in patients.
3. Total luck. This is a relatively small trial that has yet to finish - luck of the draw can play a strong role in any outcome. How many EMD patients are in the trial will also play a role.
4. Bisantrene is an amazing drug and can work even where nothing else can. I like this one the most
