Well that's easy, I just don't buy and sell based on price. I establish a thesis and a non-price related target. Pre planning a sale based on a particular future company milestone (eg future revenue/profit, clinical trial milestones etc) is a good way to avoid emotional decisions based on prices. The company continues to deliver, thesis is still in play so I see no reason to sell regardless of how profitable that investment has become
Of course I'll make an exception if the price rallies several bags in a short span of time with zero news whatsoever or something similar, but that's usually quite rare.
