Hahaha. It's the whole point of the new legislation, to make it mandatory. We already have a voluntary set of guidelines and they are ignored (especially by the media - can anyone say Channel 9 Cyber Attack?) Have the Age just thrown a tantrum because they are annoyed they will have to spend some money on their own security systems and have the government intervene if/when it all falls apart??
If anyone is interested, go to the Critical Infrastructure Centre web site (government) and see where the consultations are at to set this up. Sorry Fairfax, you are going to have to spend some money and get your systems and reporting sorted out. Try and make it an Archtis product if you don't mind...
