I actually used the Hiya app a while back, it was great. Now though Android has something native that tells me if a call is spam or suspected fraud.
From memory it crowd sourced the info, not sure if they verified it or not. So you could report numbers or calls to them and they'd flag calls as how they were reported.
This is classic Norwood though, being five years late to a tech solution.
