Most of the spending is on infrastructure, not mining. It's great that the government is wanting to promote the critical minerals sector as a future facing story in mining, but all this talk needs to be backed up with dollars. That story in the Australian highlights a serious problem for critical minerals projects, and that is labour. I can see labour costs skyrocketing. Demand for engineers is very high at the moment. I am a civil engineering lecturer and my final year engineering students are all working while juggling their studies. If the critical minerals sector starts to boom, this problem will become more acute. It will be difficult for miners to attract talent because most people want a nice, well paid, comfortable job in the city. I think Sam's PEP estimates will blow out. This is an issue he needs to address with shareholders, IMO.
