I did read something about that but I think because China has basically funded all of the Indonesian nickel projects they will do what they did with rare earths and flood the market with cheap product forcing all miners that aren't subsidised by the Chinese government to close - thats all of them and then slow production to lift the nickel price to more sustainable levels long term

Don't forget the only successful rare earths mine outside of China is Lynas and that is only because the Japanese government got directly involved because they did not want to be held ransom by the Chinese government again so the west knows what it needs to do but it seems to be all talk at the moment
