Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for lithium brine operations are very complex and require extensive data in order to be completed. EIAs include an analysis of the potential environmental impacts of the operation, as well as a review of the potential long-term effects of its activities on impacted communities, ecosystems, and water resources. Additionally, these assessments must comply with local laws, regulations, and guidelines. As such, these assessments can take a considerable amount of time to complete and can become quite costly.
I don't think new EIA's have been approved in South America fora brine operation in many years. Two EIA's being approved at Rincon is unlikely. RioTinto already has one
