Afaict the relatively small volumes sold on the spot market makes it relatively easy to sway the supply-demand equation there, and therefore the price can move (or be controlled) fairly easily and significantly. Imo it is conceivable that inventory restocking and restocking could have a huge impact on the spot price, if it is done purposefully and with the control of pricing in mind.
After seeing the games that were played with the converters and spod suppliers back in 2018/19, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if prices are being gamed by the customers in the short-term, for longer-term advantage via several mechanisms.

Anyway, in the meantime, we hurry up and wait…. While the BEOT does it’s thing. Amazing what can be done with shed loads of money and media influence!!
