Let’s start with your key point.
I don’t have access to hydrogeological modelling of the salar, so don’t know how exactly Rio’s eventual operations might impact our resource.
The short answer is: I don’t know.
But…. Have a look at other salars, like where Livent operate and have done for many years, and their neighbours (eg GLN and AKE) are still turning up huge and high-quality resources. Afaict, IF Rio came in and punched in a bunch of production wells right alongside our tenement boundaries, this could have a material impact on our resource, but I don’t expect this to happen and I am not expecting our resource to be significantly impacted by them, considering the proximity and expanse of the salar and their tenements.
Also, I can’t see Rio building out a massive operation there any time soon. Iirc they recently stated they were reevaluating their plans/timing associated with their 3ktpa starter plant. Even if they build say a 50ktpa plant this decade, the drawdown on “their” part of the overall salar resource should have little to no impact on us for a considerable time, imo. Unless they lined our boundary with wells, which I highly doubt they would.
JZ is a geo and would be the best source to clarify if you are geneuinely concerned/interested, imo!
I expect that he and Pablo have discussed this at length.
