Fair point but people might have a different approach.
These days, I do the research, make a plan and try to stick to it (obviously periodically assessing the fundamentals). For me in lithium, as long as the sector demand thesis is strong, holding long term to 12k+ production was always the plan. Probably the costliest thing I've done over and over early on with companies transitioning from explorer to production, is to sell out early, either on panic or profits, instead of sticking to the plan. Had I just held everything through all the ups and downs, as lazy as it sounds, even with some companies completely failing (AJM for example), a few of my positions would have easily covered those. As an example, I had $30k in PLS at 30c once and end up near 50% down at one point and sold out. I hold PLS today but at nowhere near such a low entry. Same story over and over. You only need to get one early entry right and let it run into a solid company to do very well even if you get a few failures along the way.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with selling with 300% profit IF that's your plan. In another multiverse, AGY could have its permits and its plant humming with the SP at an all-time high right now, so hindsight makes commentary easy. You really never know how the journey is going to go, so I'd rather stick to the plan these days instead of crying over trading missed highs.
