I posted this on 11th August regarding the ASX300 rebalancing in September vis a vis AGY:

I have read a few posts worrying about AGY's removal from the ASx300 come the next rebalancing end September 2023.
The calculations cannot be determined accurately at this time since the liquidity formula considers, not only the average market cap of AGY, but also that of the 500 companies in the All Ordinaries. Then it uses percentages which for many retail investors difficult to fathom. So, we can only speculate as I am doing here.

AGY's market cap has not fallen below 100million. We still do not know how the market cap will go from now till end September. Since April till today, the SP has run from the low of 26 to around the low 50's. The high 20's happened in August. So, at this point, market cap of AGY on the average has been over the 500m mark. In terms of the 500 companies used as base for calculations, the drop in the SP has been market-wide. You only have to look at the charts and you can see many lithium companies and ASX200 companies suffer the same SP drop. The reduction in the formula numerator would mirror roughly the drop in the formula denominator. This places AGY in a position similar to what it probably was when it was added to the ASX300. When it was included, AGY's market cap was in the max of a SP of early 50's. IMO, AGY will not be removed from the ASX300 in the next rebalancing date.
