possibly, but if we sell into their sells while they have open offers, they're able to collect more shares for their long positions and profit from their shorts as they manipulate the tide in their favour (long/short).

i imagine it as syphoning 2 open buckets in the rain, the long bucket collecting will fill from the short bucket, and the rain (exhausted retail investors) will also help fill the long bucket in excess of the existing capacity of the short bucket (exhausted retail closing their long positions helps the shorts)

these "market makers" enabling liquidity in the market are effectively legally manipulating stock prices...
