Agreed mate, but we’ve got to start somewhere. I actually think the fuel efficiency standards are a good start, without them we’re unlikely to get access to the best available vehicles.

In some respects our small population is a blessing for EV adoption as we lack the economy of scale and therefore we don’t really have much influence on the type of vehicles produced. It really doesn’t matter which type of vehicle Australians prefer, eventually we’ll all have to jump the fence to EV’s whether we like it or not. Same goes for NZ with their even smaller population.

Australia is certainly a great place to be, but I’d also be perfectly happy with a cottage in the Cotswolds in the UK, or a nice little place on the South Island of NZ, Arrowtown or somewhere similar.
