Hey mate, interesting post, I don't really know the answer. However, with JZ's history or delivery, I would never bank on expectations being exceeded. The 2 ktpa nameplate figure is likely a calculated maximum with a few different input factors including mechanical output of the plant, evaporation rates, pond size, etc.

I don't think ORE ever got Olaroz Stage 1 to nameplate, and my understanding is that this was a result of underestimating their pond requirements. I'm pretty sure AGY did exactly the same thing, otherwise why did they increase to 58h of evap ponds? The plus side here for AGY is that at least they realised their pond miscalculation before the 2 ktpa plant went into operation, rather than realising it later like ORE. I'd rather they got the ponds right the first time, but regardless, it was a good pickup to resolve it early.
