But I will take you up on scrutinising that chart. It looks to me like the creator has understated the January 2023 numbers, and overstated the January 2024 numbers. Widely reported global EV sales figures were 660k last Jan and 1.1m this Jan. The chart appears to have them at 630k and 1.13m, for a total discrepancy of around 60k, or a little over 5%.
While ~5% is a fairly marginal difference, it goes to show the importance of reliable, validated data. And of course the data selected usually favours the bias of the creator, as seen in this example.
