It's very unlikely they had a full circuit in miniature.

The input brine was probably made ad hoc in a batch process.

This is becasue the whole purpose was to prove battery grade could be achieved from Rincon brine.

The current problem is a specification issue on our end is my guess. Simply put we under spec'd it.

I'd be very surprised if given the correct specification a supplier built a complete under spec unit.

It could happen but seems unlikely especially if Puna was checking it along the way which they should of been.

I'm not surprised the supplier didn't want anything to do with modifying it under that scenario.

The supplier likely recommended they install a properly designed unit.
