1.15 million shorts were closed last Wednesday (26 June), the day AGY's SP dipped into the 6 cent range. There is no data available on Shortman for Thursday and Friday (27 and 28 June) yet, but I anticipate it will show a further and likely larger reduction in short positions, given the quick spike from the low 7 cent range to the low 9 cent range.

It seems to be just another brief rally as a result of shorts taking the opportunity to close at multi-year lows, and isn't too dissimilar to the spike in March that saw AGY rise from 11.5 cents to 19 cents, only to fall back to 12 cents within three weeks.
