Your question is obviously unreasonable. If I asked you in a one sentence question for a long, comprehensive answer on a topic I should already have a firm grasp of, I'd be the petulant one. That's what you did.
It's ridiculous to even have the discussion. The moment 'green' energy options actually do become the more pragmatic options in a practical sense in terms of cost and reliability, no one is going to use bother with something which is heavily polluting. In a few isolated cases such as where hydro is very convenient, it is the case (though even there we see apples and oranges environmental impacts), so we do use it.
If solar genuinely was a more pragmatic option than coal, China wouldn't be using coal-derived electricity to make solar cells to sell to the west while expanding its own coal infrastructure. First principles logic tells us that it makes no sense, as does extensive analysis.
