When a spodumene producer states its cost of production they mean: "Hey, a tone of rock that contains 60kgs of Li costed me $800 to extract"

When a brine producer states its cost of production they mean: "hey, a tonne of lithium carbonate costed me $18,000 to produce"

The spodumene producer is at ~$17/kg of Li
The brine producer is at ~$100/kg of Li

If you add spodumene conversion ($5,000 a tone) and transport costs ($500 a tone) to the former, the costs are

Spodumene producer ~$100/kg of Li
Brine producer ~$100/kg of Li
