I can't decide what's more disappointing @Rotane: that you can't do basic primary school maths, or that four other people liked your post, implying they can't either. Here are some points for you:

    • If a brine producer (AGY) has an OPEX rate of $18,000 per tonne, that means it costs them $18 per kg, not $100 per kg as you stated.

    • If a spodumene producer has an OPEX rate of $800 per tonne of SC6, you multiply that by 7.5 to find the equivalent LCE, before conversion costs:

    • So, $800 x 7.5 = $6,000. Adding the conversion cost ($5,000) and the transport cost you mentioned ($500 per tonne), that totals $11,500 total cost per tonne of lithium carbonate, based on a spodumene OPEX rate of $800 per tonne. It’s worth noting that many spodumene producers operate well below $800 per tonne.

    • $11.5k per tonne (as calculated above) is much lower than the $18k per tonne OPEX for Rincon Stage 2, making AGY incredibly high on the cost curve, per the example in my previous post.

P.S. - I have no idea how you arrived at the conclusion that spodumene and brine cost $100 per kg to produce. You do realise that's $100,000 per tonne, right? Back to school for you.........wink.png
