Anecdotally amusing and relatable as the article may be, I think it suffers from cognitive bias.
Where is the other side(s) of this investor's story.
The ones he should have sold and didn't.
The ones that went nowhere in 10 years that he could have traded for a nice profit.
He sold and walked away, why?
Could have sold and re-entered anytime on the way up or even lower.....or did he sell all of these at the bottom and then they promptly shot up to all time highs?
Don't think so.
And while waiting for the share to turn, could have used that capital elsewhere.
The framing of the facts is there to support the conclusion... not a balanced view.. IMHO.
