Its all about the trend and if we look at Norway which leads the EV charge we have a view into the not so distant future...

There comes a time when buying a new ICE vehicle, including hybrids makes absolutely no sense as they will have no market to eventually sell back into other than for scrap.

Norway is down to 8% of new sales being straight ICE vehicles already.

EVs have steadily accrued market share in Norway, going from 42 percent of new sales in 2019 to 54 percent in 2020 to 65 percent in 2021. Plug-in hybrids accounted for another 22 percent of sales last year, while non-plug-in hybrids made up just 6 percent. Only 8 percent of cars sold were gas or diesel powered.
