Lithium spot price might peak, though I think its only temporary, exasperated by the Chinese lockdowns. However, contract prices, by which most lithium is sold, will not peak yet. Why? Because they lag the spot price by a huge margin. Peak carbonate spot price was around 480,000 yuan/t (about US$70,000/t according to a source I use). It came down to about 440,000 yuan/t (US$65,000/) today. However contract prices are likely US$20,000+/t below these prices and rising. Here is an illustration of the effect a few months back.
