you can't avoid capital gains tax.
you have to manage it.
if you have held the stock for more than 12 months then you get a 50 % discount on your capital gain, then you have to manage the balance through a family trust ( if you have one) or take it on the chin.
the ATO will always get their pound of flesh, just have to live with it.
