Some info re processing tech.
AFAIK Livent uses some type of hybrid DLE-based process.
It requires (significant) ponds, as can be seen in this satellite pic that I saved a while ago:
Note that most of the Li brine wannabes that are chasing DLE tech (and claim to have magical process that simply extract the lithium in some simple closed-loop circuit) point to "DLE" already being used by eg Livent.... conveniently dodging the detail of what they (Livent) are actually doing, it seems!
This morning, I saw the following slide re their expansion plans.
Note the part I have circled in red re expansion #3 and the process tech; "conventional pond evaporation-based process"
Note the comments re cost, water, etc.If the so-called DLE was so massively superior, as many claim, why the shift away?
Clearly it is not as "magical" or simple as many of the newcomers hope that it will be for them, imo!
