And regarding Hydrogen, I've always seen it as a dead end; it is not feasible, other than long haul transport: big ships on the ocean or aviation.
For the ships on the ocean I think we'll get at some point to alternative options: hydrogen, nuclear or solar PV + wind with batteries which might be an option for unlimited range; as for aviation the solution might be (and I hope will be) high altitude flights (few 100s of km) using similar principles as the space propulsion (hydrogen+oxygen rocket engines) which will enable hypersonic speed for fast traveling.
A bit of fantasy and speculations here, but this is how I see it for the near future.
Lithium and batteries for everything else; which will be a lot.
