Truth is, Lithium (by itself) has a surprisingly small impact on the overall cost of an EV.
I think from memory the cost of Lithium is about 1 to 2% of the total vehicle cost.
This was one of the things that initially attracted me to Lithium investment; because auto makers had the ability to pay "almost anything" for Lithium if they were forced to in order to guarantee supply (no Lithium = no Battery = no Car Sales).
Prices like $50 to 100k/tonne were entirely feasible at one point.
