@invertedva, my view is that this ruling does not materially affect Galan (although it could get caught up in the noise). As far as I'm aware, Galan has all necessary permits in place, and as everyone would know, is pursuing the chloride route for the express reason that it didn't need/have access to much water. Additionally, the river in question is to the SE of the salar, versus Galan's project site on the far SW (closest to the town of Incahuasi noted on the map below). Should technically be a non-event. The issue would be if environmental groups somehow linked river damage/depletion to the salar itself being pumped (rather than operations drawing on the local water source), but you'd think with a free-market Milei in place wanting to get the resources sector roaring to bail out his fiscal position, that's pretty unlikely to be successful.
He'd probably turn up at the courthouse with a chainsaw
