Villarruel breaks tie in Argentina’s Senate to approve Milei’s flagship Ley Bases

This is very important and good news for the Argentinian mining sector and for international investors.
Main objectives:

• Generate conditions of predictability, stability and legal certainty for those

investments.

• Guarantee compliance with the rule of law by providing special protection

in the event of deviations and/or non-compliance by the public administration and the State.

• Encourage large national and foreign investments in certain sectors.

However, the amended version also provides for an increase in mining fees from 3% to 5%.I am not sure whether this is mandatory or optional for the provincial governments. The governor of Catamarca is against this because he sees it as a canabalisation / dilution of the original financial benefits from the RIGI.
Without knowing the final version of "Ley Bases" completely, I rate this as fundamentally positive.
