From my experience, here are some "indicators/actions" which mean absolutely nothing in terms of the ultimate success of the company.
- Company executives meeting with senior politicians/presidents of the country which hosts the resource
- Company directors buying up the stock
- Wealthy magnates buying up the stock. e.g. Gina R/Chris E
- Institutions investing in the company
- Company management appearing at a series of roadshows both home and abroad
- So called independent analysts' assessment of the sector in which the company operates e.g. JL/HK/RH
