JP came good on his $1M at the 46c placement, even after it had fallen 50%, and I respect him for that. That's the sort of conviction and integrity we want to see.

It's not reckless as Mondy has suggested. Can't win with Mondy, he would have been crying wolf if JP didn't follow his commitment.

I do share Mondy's cynicism about the timing of today's announcement - appeasing shareholders just in time for the AGM.

The rubbery statements about financial close sound no more progressed than 6 months ago, but I do take heart that construction has slowed down to conserve cash.

I also take heart from JP finally getting the message on a new CFO. About 2 years too late sadly.

I still think JP is on the nose with the market and we won't get a real re-rate until he either closes a JV with someone else as builder/operator, or puts in a builder and operator as CEO. Step back to Executive Director of MD Galan Argentina, whatever, just put in the A-team and get out of the way.

As for me, I'm spending less time on HotCopper. My mental health and net worth has improved markedly.
