While he noted that dialogue with the provincial government has improved and that training programs are being implemented in collaboration with AOMA and some companies, he also emphasized that the tax incentives announced to promote exploration have yet to be put into practice. “We are all very hopeful and believe this is a very good signal from the government to the industry, and especially to our investors.” But the warning was clear: “If we look at the map of Argentina, we don’t have a single new project under construction, and that gives us a clear sign that we are doing something wrong.”
The much-promoted RIGI still lacks concrete examples to demonstrate its effectiveness. At the very least, a flagship project is needed to gauge its real impact and unlock decision-making.
