Spoof/phantom bids, not legal but happens all the time.
Massive sell orders put a few pips above price to force out any weak hands, then the seller is the one who's buying all the stock.
Just a regular shakeout operation, the key is to try to differentiate when it's selling pressure vs buying pressure.
Vice versa on the bid side ^^
