I used to be a GXY investor and this manipulation went on for years. When it was brought to the attention of management, they dismissed it as normal market behaviour. A journalist named Ben Pauley has written extensively about the problem, but nothing is done about it because at the end of the day the ASX and ASIC are in the pockets of the very companies they are meant to be regulating. It is so much easier for them to crack down on the small-time "social media manipulator" instead. I'm afraid we just have to learn to live with this manipulation - learn how it is done and work around it.
