The reality is that Goldman have probably just repurposed CRU research from early May - I don't think any of the banks have their own supply and demand models internally, especially in the specialty minerals.
Quite a few panicked after CRU made a bearish call, however, Goldman has actual positions to trade down and get the bear rolling. I suspect this is what they've done and now it will be interesting to see if they ramp it back up like they did a few weeks ago.
