Hi Bombers,
I know you know a lot more about Lithium than me and a lot of us and always enjoy your posts
A lot of the research I have done shows that delivering lithium concentrate to the market is actually a very complicated process in order to achieve battery grade and a lot of producers have to struggle for years to achieve these battery grades or sell at a lower price at a lower grade.
Would that be right to assume that selling chloride instead of carbonate is a much easier process? Would that also means that the evaporation time is much shorter so that's another benefit, in addition to a reduced CAPEX because the amount of chemical/infrastructure required would be less?
If that's the case, it's definitely another mastermind hit from JP. Low CAPEX and fast track to market to take advantage of the high price of lithium and then extend to producing carbonate, while the team learns how to master the battery grade at the same time.
