Give me a break! Whether campaigning to minimise climate change is foolish or not is purely in the eye of the beholder, but activism is what moves our world along. The enlightenment would not have happened if not for activism against the power of the church (just riffing off the slightly more reasonable stance posted above by @paulgf ).

If I join a group that campaigns for greater health funds or more schools I am also an activist. Anyone living in Australia has been able to see the results of global warming and deforestation. It has been right in our faces for the past few years: if its not fires and extinction it is flooding and more flooding. Try taking a more nuanced view. And I am probably older than nearly everyone on this forum.
