There has been a fair amount of noise the past fortnight regarding Lithium Pricing in China. Whilst there are drivers that are applying the handbrakes to the spot price (which sitting at US$81/kg) is still near its all time highs, not much attention has been given to the overall market by any analysts
According to Fastmarkets, for the 1st time in a very long time the Contract Price for Battery Grade Carbonate has risen 7.5% this week and is nearly on parity with the Spot Price as shown below:
Spot Price for Battery Grade Carbonate = US$81/kg
Contract Price for Battery Grade Carbonate = US$78.50/kg
