Valid concerns. GCM’s investment into McIntosh without securing the joint venture first does raise questions, but it seems more like HXG got greedy rather than GCM failing due diligence. GCM claims they met the earn-in terms, but HXG is refusing to formalize the agreement—hence the legal battle. A private settlement would be ideal, but HXG might not play ball. Most of us aren't here for this regardless.
As for tech, VHD graphite is unique—developed at UNSW, it has superior thermal properties (3x better than aluminum) and is lightweight. No direct rival at this scale yet, though other graphite purification methods exist.
High risk, high reward—worth watching how the lawsuit and commercialization progress. GLTAH.
