Just following up on the comments made about the graphite vs...

Just following up on the comments made about the graphite vs lithium content of lithium ion batteries and I'm seeing conflicting information so I'm not really sure what is true, but I did find this snippet when googling the information:

It is the largest component in lithium-ion batteries by weight, with each battery containing 20-30% graphite. But due to losses in the manufacturing process, it actually takes 30 times more graphite than lithium to make the batteries.

This does in part answer one of the things I had wondered after the scoping study was released earlier this week, the study mentions that the facility would be capable of processing 40kt/y of graphite concentrates resulting in production of up to 18.6kt/y of CSPG and 17kt/y of micronised by-products.

The above production results had me wondering why 40kt/y only produces 18.6kt/y of CSPG and why the total output was 35.6kt/y (18.6 + 17).

Perhaps the answer is in the finer detail of the scoping study, but there was a LOT of information in that announcement so I've yet to read it in it's entirety.
