Hi bizzo - LIN is referring only to gravity separation of the rare earth element bearing monazite using water after crushing/grinding. To then extract the rare earths you need to go down the refinery route like Lynas at Malaysia / Kalgoorlie or Iluka at Eneabba. This is very different to 'extracting' using water; no extracting of rare earths is happening, they are concentrating the monazite. Also interesting that LIN doesn't report U + Th in that testwork report from April, because the monazite holds the U + Th and so will necessarily increase proportionately. They say the mineralisation is non-radioactive, but they don't talk about the concentrate.
This is where MEI (and other IAC deposits) is so so different from the monazite / hard rock deposits and costs are so much lower for extracting the REE's.
