The South American deposits found yet may not be heap leachable either like HREE 300-400ppm kaolin/halloysite deposits like china, read this report

Extraction of rare earth elements from a South American ionic clay

nepheline-syneite is low silica so my limited understanding is the alkaline intrusive body enriched the area in bastnaesite mineral, then the rocks easily eroded without a protective mulch (sand) and on top of hills have the most environmental exposure in this case, in one rock type has led to the bastnaesite at a soft environmental leach become ionic.

the problem though with heavy brick clay is, it's usually impermeable to liquid, so heap or insitu leaching maybe not work

i just find it typical Australian CEO is doing rock star world tour, without the work that IXR has done. It maybe a dud why jogmec threw it away
