For now I will not address that particular comment but I will make some other comments in reply to Thomas' remarks in that rare earth interview:

    1) Agree on environmental challenges from in situ leaching. This is reasonably obvious anyway.
    2) Thomas is negative on Ucore's ability to separate REEs. This I don't really follow. What Ucore has done is licenced a modification of traditional mixer-settler contactors that appears to be much quicker and in a reduced footprint. Typical SX involves mixing solutions together in a tank with a rotator that increases the contact area. RapidSX is changing this to a column based system with packing inside the columns and using co-current flows of solvent and feed solution. This system has already been tested and shown a few years ago to work. It's currently being optimised by Ucore's contractor.
    3) IACs are "an aberration" and monazite is the way to go - I dispute his aberration suggestion. IACs have been around a long time, China gained their control of the market with IACs. IACs are clearly not an aberration.
    4) Thomas notes Energy Fuel's unique ability to deal with radionuclides. While he did make any strong statement, it's my view that this is also a good path for economical REE extraction (as a byproduct of heavy mineral sands).
    5) What Thomas was implying that Energy Fuels does not have the problems that LYC does in handling radionuclides.
