VW wants a different recipe to Toyota. So when contracts are being drawn up, if the processing play is set up for and paid for by X company, there is unlikely to be a pleased X company if Y company comes along hoping to get their recipe manufactured.

Generically it is easy to see why people want to believe there is lots of lithium available, but realistically, there is going to be room for 5-10 other reputable companies making the specific type of battery grade lithium to suit the end user. That’s just within the next 3-5 year window imo.
