I suppose whoever is going to the trouble isn't too worried about a few small transactions? You can trade pretty cheap these days via the right platform... and clearly some bots/algorithms so not like it's taking manual time and effort.
Who knows what impact is may or may not have. But it can be the difference between a green or a red day, and/or make it look like a stock doesn't have momentum - to anyone not looking closely throughout the day.
Shouldn't have any long term impact.
