Hey Will, how about some fiscal stimulus to help light the fire as well? News just released will be making a lot of headlines over the next few hours and days in the UK. UK Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has persuaded the PM and treasury to release the purse strings to fund the NHS to unprecedented levels over the next 10 years. The new investment will mean that by 2023-24 the NHS budget will increase in real terms compared to today by more than £20billion a year. (equivalent of £600million a week in cash terms). Hunt said: “Today, as the Prime Minister announces a historic long-term funding boost and 10-year plan for the health service, we are backing the NHS to show the world what a cutting-edge 21st century healthcare system can look like."

Also of note is the following reference (which could have significant implications for our Smartpage system):

"For many doctors and nurses, the current NHS technology lag has led them to find ways of working around the challenges, including using popular mobile messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Snapchat that can potentially put patient data at risk. A study of 2,107 doctors by the British Medical Journal across five hospital sites found that 98.9% own a smartphone, and just over a third use web-based messaging apps to send clinical information.
The same report also showed, worryingly, that 65 per cent of doctors had texted patient data from their smartphones, 46 per cent had sent pictures (e.g. of wounds or X-rays) to a colleague, and around a third had used an app such as WhatsApp to share confidential information. The continued use of outdated technology has led to what has been described as a “Wild West” in digital communication,25 as doctors look to circumvent the rules to improve patient care, despite the risk of fines for data breaches. This needs to end. There must be a far better roll-out of compliant digital messaging devices by NHS trusts."
