Dartford and Gravesham signs £1m ePMA deal with Alcidion
Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has signed a £1million deal with Alcidion to provide a medications managements solutions.
The Australian company will provide its OPENeP electronic prescribing and medications administrations (ePMA) system, produced by Better, to the trust over six years.
It comes after the trust selected Alcidion as its preferred supplier for technology and digital solutions in July 2019.
Neil Perry, director of digital transformation, said: “We were excited by the range of technologies that Alcidion could provide us to achieve our objectives.
“Alcidion’s partnership with Better allows us to address electronic prescribing and medications management to further complete the picture.”
Alcidion’s full product suit, Patientrack, was implemented at the trust, which serves some 500,000 people across three hospitals, in early 2019 and plans are currently underway to employ the Miya Precision and Smartpage solutions.
The comprehensive medication management information from OPENeP will be fully integrated with the capabilities of Miya Precision, enhancing clinical decision support and extending the scope of the electronic patient record.
This agreement is Alcidion’s first implementation of OPENeP.
Roko Malkoč, business unit manager of OPENeP, said: “Patients should be the focus, and it is in their interest to always get accurate treatment of the highest quality.
“By collaborating with Alcidion at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, we aim to create an environment which maximises patient safety, improves collaboration among staff, and prevents unnecessary errors. All this will lead to better patient outcomes”.
