reference sites often have contractual inclusions for better pricing in future based on other hospitals buying. The rationale being that it is disruptive to have potential clients walking around your facility seeing the systems in action; so they can be compensated for that. Not saying this is the case here as I haven’t looked into the deal specifically but it’s often in their best interests to be positive about it (as well as him obviously wanting the new major initiative to go well for its own sake)
