I have been doing a bit of research on what sort of price tag the papermill at Amos might have. I know at one point SB put a price of $50 million on it, however I am thinking it could be closer to $30 million (or less).

The above article is form 2010 and sort of underscores the demise of the paper industry. Fast forward 13 years later and has that industry gotten any better, and more to the point there are very very very very few customers who will be in the market for a gently used Paper mill, and especially so in a place like Amos (Population 12,500)..

The last example is the Shawinigan paper mill, it fell on hard times in 2014 and in 2015 thought they had new life via the Nemaska project. Nemaska soon fell and the whole project crashed. As far as I can tell this plant is still sitting idle in Shawinigan, that's over 9 years.

I believe there is no way the paper mill in Amos will ever see life again as a paper mill and the owners know there will be likely no other bidders coming by for quite some time to come... could make for an opportunity to make a huge purchase at a very good price.
